Get Your No - Nonsense Reviews Right Here

"ANYONE HAVE ANY DIS-AGREEMENTS WITH THE REVIEWS?...ADD A COMMENT"

3 Inches of Blood - Advance & Vanquish - Their singer's voice reminds me of Dani Filth for some odd reason. The band plays a power / death metal type music that is pretty easy to get into and the guitars on this album rock balls. If you are a death metal fan, who might want to give a little power metal a taste, you need to get this one. 3.7 out of 5.0

3 - Wake Pig - Excellent progressive pop/rock/metal. If you like Coheed these guys are for you. Great lyrics and great mood changes. 3.9 out of 5.0

Anthrax - Madhouse - Generic cheesy metal...can't get into it. 2.6 out of 5.0

August Burns Red - Thrill Seeker - A deep death / metalcore sound that pretty much reminds you of everything else out right now. The music here is nothing original, but still good. If you like A Dozen Furies or Every Time I Die, here you go. 3.5 out of 5.0

Avenged Sevenfold - Waken the Fallen - Much harder than the new A7X record but really good...more "hardcore" than "hard rock". 3.8 out of 5.0

Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil - I liked this CD to start out with, but after 3 or 4 listens its starting to get on my nerves. I like the straight up rock these guys play...but their guitars are not tuned low enough for my taste. Sounds a little too "happy". 3.7 out of 5.0

The Black Dahlia Murder - Miasma - A constant trip through the mind of some great musicians. This one has it all: great percussion, evil guitars and bass, and glass shattering voices. You can't help to get into this kind of music...it is totally different than anything out right now. 4.4 out of 5.0

Bleeding Through - The Truth - Older hardcore band thats still kicking it. Play very hard and the singercan scream and sing deadly hooks to go along with it. One of the best albums coming out this year. 4.0 out of 5.0

Cannibal Corpse - Gore Obsessed - This C.C. CD is awesome...it has most of the better known songs on it. 4.5 out of 5.0 - Casey

Circa Survive - Juturna - Circa Survive is a band thats new to me...probably new to everyone. They play a dreamy "dredg" type rocks that really works for them. This is great music to listen to with headphones...in bed...in the dark. 3.7 out of 5.0

Coheed - Good Apollo... - Great progressive rock cd. There is a story behind these songs but I dont really care...its kick ass music. Once you get past the singers voice youll be able to tell his songwriting skills are off the chain. This cd is sweet, moody, atmospheric, catchy, riffy, and loud. 4.5 out of 5.0

Deadbird - The Head and the Heart - They make stoner metal easier to listen to...as if anyone could get into it. 3.5 out of 5.0 - Casey

Devin Towsend - Synchestra - Weird metal/pop/folk/rock/country album. Progressive style to the songs but it a CD you have to listen asll the way through. This CD will blow your mind if you give it a chance. 3.6 out of 5.0

Green Carnation - Acoustic Verses - This is a very strange album...I mean, its a good cd but totally unexpected. As the title says, it is acoustic...but it sounds so big. The songs are sad, slow, and harmonic...perfect for sleeping. When I heard this CD for the first time it reminded me of Days of the New and Mad Season...so if you like these two bands this is for you. 4.3 out of 5.0

Grey Skies Fallen - A mix of Dimmu Borgir vocals with "Tool" like music...a great combination if you ask me. They mesh it together just enough to make you want to listen to more. 3.6 out od 5.0 - Casey

Iced Earth - Dark Saga - Progressive, symphonic power metal...all singing. Lyrics are a lot too fantasy for me, but I guess I should have expected that with "Dark Saga" as the title. 3.0 out of 5.0

Ill Nino - Confession - Generic Nu-Metal crap... 1.5 out of 5.0

In Flames - Clayman - Pretty good In Flames record...I got into these guys because of Come Clarity and this is pretty close. The record starts out very strong...great first half, much weaker second half. 3.7 out of 5.0

In Flames - Come Clarity - Swedish band, very melodic...Great Hard Melodioc Metal. This is a disc you can pick up if you are just starting to get into the genre. 4.0 out of 5.0

Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing - New American death metal/metalcore...these guys are the future...a "new" classic. 4.0 out of 5.0

Life of Agony - Broken Valley - Most certainly sounds a lot like River Runs Red than Ugly...great cd...if you like good hard rock and not that nu-metal shit then this is for you. 3.5 out of 5.0

Megadeth - Greatest Hits - All the best are here...I didnt like Megadeth for a while, but they are truly a kick ass band. 4.1 out of 5.0

Obituary - Anthology - At times, this CD can get a little repetitive...but overall a good driving force. 4.2 out of 5.0 - Casey

Opeth - My Arms, your Hearse - Progressive death metal with moslty inhuman growls (sounds like satan's belting out song). Great music on this album...the voice just takes some getting used to. 3.6 out of 5.0

OverKill - From the Underground and Below - Great CD...if you like Metallica...you are going to like this one! 4.0 out of 5.0

Peach - Giving Birth to a Stone - There really isn't much to say. It's weird. 1.0 out of 5.0 - Casey

Riverside - Out of Myself - These guys could be the next Dream Theater or Pink Floyd. This just makes you want to sit back and think. Great music, these guys should be proud. 3.5 out of 5.0 -Casey

Robert Plant - Mighty Re-Arranger - This reminds me of Scott Weiland's solo CD...which wasn't good at all either. 2.0 out of 5.0 - Casey

Scissorfight - Balls Deep - An alternative metal / stoner rock hybrid...maybe Clutch meets Kyuss. I love the "crazy ass" lyrics and the simple, yet banging song structures...the low tuned riffs are just straight kick ass. Pop a beer, smoke some stuff, hang out with friends and put on this album...its a lot of fun. 4.2 out of 5.0

Sepultura - Roots - The percussion on this album is nothing short of amazing...the tribal beats and eletronic additions to the background were totally inventive at the time. If you are a true metal fan, this should be in your collection! 4.7 out of 5.0

Serapis - Serapis - This is one of my top 3 favorites. It's like Norma Jean mixed with a nice kick of Mastodon. 4.5 out of 5.0 - Casey

Slayer - Reign in Blood - Old school thrash metal...lyrics are screamed but screamed barely. Exessively heavy but a classic. 4.2 out of 5.0

Soilwork - A Predator's Portrait - Pretty good album from these Scandanavian guys...death metal with huge melodic chorus. 3.9 out of 5.0

Strapping Young Lad - Alien - A complete mindfuck for the senses...its super trippy so be quite prepared look confused in the beginning. The songs are twisted and extravagent...the multiple layers take more than a few listens to even begin to comprehend what is going on in Devin's mind. If you are a fan of the Devin Townsend Band and have never heard his other jewels, you are in for a rude awakening. Devin Townsend delves into everything...this project is just smart person metal for criminals. lastly, reminded me of some Meshuggah but faster. 4.3 out of 5.0

Sworn Enemy - As Real as it Gets - These east coast New Yorkers play a straight hardcore/punk/hip-hop style without the massive emo choruses thrown in for the ladies. The low tuned riffs paired with the screechinf high solos get your heads a pumping away. The singers voice has a great "old" hardcore sound...maybe Suicidal Tendecies great. He doesnt try to overpower or belt out shit no one can understand...he's just pissed off and letting it go! The only compaint I have against this band is that the lyrics are really week...It would be great to have some decent lyrics to go along with the great music. 3.8 out of 5.0

Testament - New World Order - I was very much suprised...these guys are from the same time as Metallica...and from the same area of the country. If you like Metallica this is for you...very underated album. 4.0 out of 5.0

Vader - Black to the Blind - Am I Supposed to like these guys? They are pioneers in metal right? The blast beat drums just plain sucks ass...the singers voice sounds like every other metallers - you need to at least half way stand out from the crowd. I like the Thrash elements but this CD is middle of the road - run of the mill. 1.4 out of 5.0
